Welcome to the Flex’s winter group fitness schedule!
We are very pleased to offer a full line up of 22 weekly group fitness classes from 12 different modalities!
You may sign up for a variety of classes; Belly Dancing, Boot Camp, Muscle Conditioning, Intermediate/Advanced Spin, Interval Step, Spin, Spin Strength & Stretch, Stability Ball Strength & Stretch, Power Yoga, Yoga for Relaxation, Walking Club or Zumba. Class descriptions are found on the back of fitness schedule. As usual, feel free to pick and choose from classes on days and times that fit your schedule!
The fee schedule for this session will follow the same format as previous sessions. Registering for one class means you are registering for a class on a specific day and time. For example, registering for one spin class means you attend spin class on the day and time you register for. It does not mean you are eligible to attend one spin class any day you choose.
All classes are 50 minutes in length and will take place in the assigned room as noted on the schedule.
Registration for fitness classes begins on Thursday, January 12th at 9am.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. A waiting list will be used should classes be oversubscribed. A few weeks into the session, we are typically able to open up a few more spaces for those on the wait list, so be sure to leave your contact information with staff upon registration!
The first week of classes, January 9th- 13th is FREE!
The fee schedule is based on the following 14 weeks of classes: January 16th – April 20th.
(Makeup classes will be held April 23rd- April 27th as required. In lieu of the holiday on Good Friday, Friday class participants will have scheduled classes on Friday, April 27th, and if necessary, a makeup class on Friday, May 4th.)

Group Fitness Class Descriptions
Belly Dancing- Our campus is thrilled to add the talents, experience and expertise of June, of Zahra’s School of Middle Eastern Dance to our weekly class offerings. Toted as ‘an amazing belly dancer’ and ‘amazing and inspiring instructor’, consider adding this alternate form of exercise to your weekly schedule! While the term ‘belly dancing’ is something of a misnomer as every part of the body is involved in the dance, the most featured body part usually is the hips. Don’t let that fool you, though! Be prepared for a new total body experience!
Boot Camp- This high intensity, no-nonsense, non-stop conditioning/cardio class will push you mentally and physically. Using your body weight as the main source of resistance, you will perform variations of push-ups, squats, lunges and perform plyometric movements. Innovative fitness tools will also be introduced throughout the session. Serious about your workouts and love high exercise intensity? Consider joining Boot Camp!
Interval Step- This aerobic workout includes beginner to intermediate level step choreography in order to increase cardiovascular fitness as well as challenging muscular endurance intervals. Experience the cardio and strength benefits this class has to offer!
Intermediate/Advanced Spin- For those who are avid road cyclists or enthusiastic indoor riders, take your ride to the next level with an advanced class sure to challenge your cardio and muscular capacity and endurance!
Muscle Conditioning- Looking for resistance training that tones, strengthens and shapes your body? This class will challenge all major muscles groups leaving you seeing results!! Lift weights in the company of others, guided by an instructor and motivated by awesome tunes!
Power Yoga - Looking for a workout that leaves you inspired yet challenged? Consider Power Yoga with Janine! The vigorous nature of Power Yoga will get the blood flowing, the heart pumping and muscles engaged. Join us and cleanse the body and calm the mind. Some experience is recommended, however all levels welcomed!
Spin- An intense cardio class on a stationary bike! Based on cycling principles, classes are technique and real terrain based with a focus on cadence, heart-rate, climbs, sprints, lifts and interactive group drills creating an unpredictable ride that is fun and challenging. Suitable for indoor cycling newcomers and experienced riders!
Spin, Strength & Stretch- New to spin or prefer a change of routine? Why not try our new Spin, Core & Stretch? This class will offer a mix of spinning followed by core exercises culminating in a good overall stretch!
Stability Ball Strength and Stretch- Once a tool used strictly in rehabilitation settings, the stability ball has become a staple of almost every fitness facility. Experience the benefits of this amazing tool and see how it can help transform your balance, strength and flexibility!
Walking Club- Would you like to get some exercise, but perhaps don’t want to join the gym? The Flex Walking Club may be the perfect fit for you! Join Kelsie, a Flex Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, and walk your way to increased physical activity. Each weekly session will consist of a ‘quick clinic’ addressing various wellness issues followed by walks of the indoor running track, or weather permitting a guided outdoor route. Walking Club registration entitles users to track access 7 days a week for the duration of the session! Yes, Saturdays and Sundays too! Join some like minded friends and colleagues. Let’s walk together!
Yoga for Relaxation- In many translations, Yoga means ‘to unite’; a great description for the yoga practice. Unite the mind and body through techniques characterized by flowing poses and sequences that are linked to the breath. This class works the entire body in a gentle way. Each class will have a unique combination of sequencing, which will have you feeling centered, more flexible and stronger!
Zumba- Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That's exactly what the Zumba program is all about! It's an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that's moving millions of people toward joy and health.
All classes are suitable for all fitness levels unless otherwise specified.
